Finally, it’s essential to keep your retainers clean. Make sure to clean them thoroughly by brushing them with a toothbrush and toothpaste. Take them out to eat or drink anything but water. Always follow your orthodontist’s instructions pertaining to the care of the retainers.

After that, she allows nightwear.  Dr. Oakes places a bonded retainer (not removable) on the lower to take the guesswork out of retainer wear. There is a slight adjustment period at first.
